Remove

DMK ALKALINE WASH TREATMENT (from £45)

The pain-free hair removal system

The DMK Alkaline Wash system is a remarkable treatment designed to reduce fine, downy hair. We can remove large areas of hair in one treatment with no discomfort as with other hair removal systems.

Alkaline wash is an alkaline powder, which is mixed into a paste and applied to the skin for approximately 3-5 minutes. That dissolves the hair and, on each treatment, weakens the hair root. The treatment is pain-free. 

After the first treatment, the hair will grow back at its normal rate, but as treatments progress the re-growth rate will become slower and slower which will usually result in permanent hair loss of the fine downy hair.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

 

How long does each treatment take?

The treatment usually takes approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on the ice of the area to be treated.

 

Do I need a patch test prior to the treatment?

Yes, a patch test is necessary at least 48 hours prior to the appointment to ensure that your skin is suitable for the alkaline treatment.

 

Are there any side effects?

The treatment is totally pain-free, however, in some cases, the area can appear red and warm. This is normal and will subside in a short period of time.

 

Which area of my face can be treated?

Any area of the face can be treated provided the hair is suitable. 

 

Will alkaline wash work on any hair type?

Alkaline Wash is not generally recommended for terminal hair as it will not be able to penetrate down the follicle that is deep-rooted and therefore we will not be able to remove this type of hair.

 

Will the treatment stmulate the hair growth?

No, as the alkaline has a dissolving and damaging effect on the follicle it is impossible to stimulate hair growth.

 

What are the benefits of DMK alkaline wash?

  1. The alkaline wash treatment is pain-free

  2. We can move hair from large areas in one treatment

  3. The alkaline treatment is perfect for people who are not suitable for waxing, electrolysis or laser hair removal.

  4. It works on fine hair without much pigment in it (unlike lasers).

  5. Weakens hair growth.

  6. It reduces hair growth and can lead to permanent hair removal.

 

Do I have to follow any aftercare post treatment?

Aftercare is extremely important and if not followed correctly, it can lead to adverse reactions and skin not healing properly.

Alkaline treatment aftercare:

  1. Do not apply to make up to the area for at least 12 hours 

  2. Do not sunbathe or use a sunbed for at least 14 days following the treatment.

  3. Use Herb & Mineral mist and Seba E Oil for 4-5 days after the treatment. It must be applied as an aftercare prescriptive twice or three times daily. DMK transdermal sunscreen should be used daily. If excessive heat or irritation occurs, the DMK Contraderm Creme should be applied to calm it down with ice (in gauze) if needed.

  4. Do not use any other products on the treated area as they may irritate the skin, cause a reaction and lengthen the healing process.

  5. Do not scratch the area after the treatment.

  6. Do not combine any other facial treatment with the DMK Alkaline Wash Hair Removal treatment. Wait at least 7 days before electrolysis treatment and 2 weeks with laser.

 

How does the alkaline wash work? 

The alkaline wash formula creates an alkaline condition when applied to the skin. It turns the pH of the skin from around 5.6 to about 12 in less than 3 minutes. This action dissolves hair and softens or desquamates skin cells. After that, the alkaline paste is removed and neutralized with Exoderma Peel. 

 

Do I need to use any products after the treatments?  

Yes, as a part of the aftercare you must use  DMK’s SEBA E OIL and HERB&MINERAL MIST for at least 4-5 days. It will help to speed up the healing process, repair the skin barrier and rebuild the acid mantle of the skin. DMK transdermal sunscreen should also be used daily to protect the skin from damaging UV rays. DMK products are an essential part of the aftercare and Alkaline Wash treatment cannot be performed without them.
