What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of mind characterized by deep relaxation and heightened focus.

It is a naturally occurring state that we all experience in our daily lives.

It can be similar to daydreaming, being absorbed in a good book or movie even getting lost in your own thoughts.

During hypnosis, an individual's attention becomes highly focused and their level of suggestibility increases.

This allows the individual to be more open to suggestions and more willing to make changes in their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.

Hypnosis can be induced by a hypnotist or a hypnotherapist, through the use of verbal cues and relaxation techniques. It can also be self-induced.

Hypnosis is not sleep or unconsciousness.

The person in hypnosis is aware of their surroundings,  they can hear the hypnotist and respond to their suggestions, which make this safe and non-invasive.

It has been used for a wide range of therapeutic and medical purposes such as managing pain, overcoming fears and phobias, and even quitting smoking or losing weight.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that uses hypnosis, or an induced state of relaxation and concentration, to help individuals overcome a variety of issues, including negative behaviors, anxiety, phobias, and chronic pain.

During a hypnotherapy session, the therapist will guide the individual into a trance-like state, by using relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing and visualization.

Once in this state, the therapist can give positive suggestions, post-hypnotic suggestions and affirmations.

This will help the changes and improve the thinking and behavior of the individual.

One of the benefits of hypnotherapy is, that it can help individuals overcome behaviors or habits, that they have been unable to change through traditional forms of therapy.

For example, hypnotherapy has been shown to be effective in helping individuals quit smoking, lose weight, reduce anxiety and stress.

Hypnotherapy can also be used to improve performance in sports or public speaking, to overcome fears and phobias.

Some people may even use hypnotherapy to improve their sleep or manage chronic pain.

It is important to note that hypnotherapy is not a replacement for traditional forms of therapy, but rather a complement to them.

Overall, hypnotherapy is a safe and effective form of therapy that can help individuals overcome a variety of issues and improve their overall quality of life.
