Cellstory ® is often referred to as liquid microneedling because it delivers many of the skin-renewing benefits associated with traditional microneedling—without metal needles.
Instead, it uses thousands of purified microscopic Microspear® spicules derived from freshwater sponge. Each step has been carefully developed to prepare, stimulate and support the skin.
Rather than relying on one product alone, every stage works together to maximise results while keeping the skin calm and comfortable throughout the treatment.

​How many treatments will I need?​

​Many clients notice healthier, brighter skin after just one treatment.
For concerns such as acne scarring, pigmentation, enlarged pores and ageing, I usually recommend a course of four treatments spaced around four weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments tailored to your skin goals

When will I see results?​

Many people notice brighter, smoother skin within a week, with continued improvements over several weeks as collagen production increases.

Can Cellstory treat acne?​

Yes. It can improve acne, acne scarring, enlarged pores and post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Is Cellstory suitable for sensitive skin?​

Yes. The treatment includes calming ingredients and purified Microspear ® technology designed to minimise irritation, although every client receives a consultation first to ensure suitability

Is Cellstory the same as microneedling?
Not exactly.
Both stimulate collagen production, but Cellstory uses patented Microspear ® technology rather than metal needles, making it a needle-free alternative.

Does Cellstory hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as tiny prickles or tingling.
No numbing cream is required.
Discomfort is usually mild and lasts only during treatment.
Immediately afterwards your skin may appear:
• Pink
• Slightly warm
• Tight
Over the next few days you may experience:
• Mild dryness
• Light flaking
• Slight roughness
Most clients return to normal activities straight away.

Will my skin peel?
Some clients experience mild peeling between days 3 and 5.

 

Can I wear makeup afterwards?
It's best to avoid makeup for 24 hours.


Can I exercise?
Avoid the gym, sauna, swimming and excessive heat for 24–48 hours after treatment.

Cellstory Liquid Microneedling Aftercare, Side Effects and Contraindications​

Please read this entire page before booking your Cellstory treatment.

It explains the correct aftercare, possible side effects and reasons why the treatment may not be suitable for you.

​Cellstory Aftercare

Do not wash or cleanse your face on the evening of your Cellstory liquid microneedling treatment.

Use the sheet mask provided as instructed to help soothe and hydrate the skin. Allow the products applied during the treatment to remain on your face overnight.

​

Days 1 to 3: Morning Routine​

  • Cleanse gently using a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Do not use scrubs, exfoliating acids, retinol or strong active ingredients.

  • Apply the serum saved from your sheet mask pouch using clean hands and gentle pressure.

  • Apply the Angelto Moisturiser provided.

  • Apply SPF as sun protection is essential after Cellstory liquid microneedling.

  • Makeup may be worn the following morning, but it must be applied gently without rubbing or pressing heavily on the skin.

​

Days 1 to 3: Evening Routine​

  • Cleanse gently

  • Apply the remaining sheet mask serum

  • Finish with the Angelto Moisturiser

​

From Day 4

  • You may gradually return to your usual skincare routine from Day 4, provided your skin feels calm and comfortable. Continue using gentle products if your skin may still be red, sensitive, dry or irritated.

​

What You Must Avoid for Three Days :​

  • Heavy exercise and excessive sweating

  • Saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis and hot tubs

  • Very hot showers or baths

  • Facial massage and gua sha

  • Facial rollers, cleansing brushes and beauty devices

  • Scrubs, chemical peels and exfoliating acids

  • Retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and strong vitamin C products

  • Picking, scratching or peeling the skin

  • Unprotected sun exposure

  • Alcohol and smoking where possible

 

What to expect after treatment:

Mild temporary reactions are normal after Cellstory liquid microneedling, as your sking begins its natural renewal process.

  • Tingling or Prickling

You may feel a mild prickling, tingling or stinging sensation, especially when touching or washing your face.

This normally improves within one to three days.

  • Redness

Your skin may look flushed or slightly red, similar to mild sunburn.

  • Warmth or Mild Itching

Temporary warmth or mild itchiness may occur. Do not scratch or rub the treated area.

  • Dryness or Tightness

The skin may feel tighter or drier than usual during the renewal process.

  • Mild Peeling or Flaking

Light peeling or flaking may occur during the days after treatment. Allow the skin to shed naturally.​

Do Not Have Cellstory if You Have:

 

  • An active skin infection

  • Open wounds, cuts or broken skin

  • Cold sores or an active herpes outbreak

  • Sunburn

  • An allergic skin reaction

  • Severe facial irritation or inflammation

  • Active cystic or severely inflamed acne

  • A severe rosacea flare-up

  • An eye infection

  • A fever, cold, flu or contagious illness

  • Unexplained facial swelling

  • A known nut allergy (as Cellstory products contains nuts)

  • Use prescription creams or acne medication

  • Take blood-thinning medication

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Are receiving cancer treatment

 

​Tell your practitioner if you have recently had:

  • Botox or other injectable treatments

  • Dermal fillers

  • Microneedling

  • Laser treatment

  • Chemical peels

  • Dermaplaning

  • Facial waxing or threading

  • Permanent makeup

  • Cosmetic surgery

  • Dental or jaw procedures

  • Any other facial treatment

 

You must wait until the skin has completely healed before having Cellstory.

Injectable treatments may require a waiting period of approximately two to four weeks. Laser, microneedling and stronger resurfacing treatments may require approximately two to three weeks or longer.

Frequently Asked Questions


Can Cellstory be used on the neck?

No. Cellstory should only be used on the face. The skin on the neck and other areas has a different thickness and structure, which may increase the risk of irritation.

Can more than one ampoule be used?

No. One 0.6 g Cellstory ampoule is the recommended amount for one treatment.

Use only one ampoule per session and no more than once per week.

Can I apply makeup the following morning?

Yes. Apply it gently after completing your morning aftercare routine.

Do not rub, massage or use facial beauty tools for at least three days.

When can I restart active skincare?

Active ingredients may be gradually reintroduced from Day 4 if your skin feels calm and comfortable.
